How Does The Process Work?

Once you contact SoundAgreements regarding a dispute with another party:

What Will Happen At The Mediation?

On the date and time of the mediation, all parties will meet at one of our SoundAgreement’s locations. During the mediation session the mediator will:

Z
You will be contacted by our staff and asked to provide information regarding the dispute and contact information for the other party.
Z
Our staff will contact the other party to ascertain their willingness to participate and to obtain party information and their take on the dispute.

Note: SoundAgreements will keep all disclosed information strictly confidential unless you request that we share it with the other party.

Z
If all parties agree to participate, the mediation session will be scheduled at a time and place that works for all parties.
Z
Meet with the parties, either together or separately, so that the parties are fully engaged in the settlement process and are committed to reaching an agreement.
Z
Afford the parties the opportunity to explain their position and explore possible settlement options with the mediator.
Z
Commit as much time as it takes to reach a comprehensive settlement that works for all parties.
Z
Thoroughly document the settlement to ensure that both parties appreciate its binding effect.

How Much Does Mediation Cost?

SoundAgreements charges a modest hourly fee (4 hour minimum) for assisting you in reaching an agreement. A deposit (split equally by all parties) is due and payable once the mediation is agreed to by all parties and the mediation is scheduled. The remainder, if any, is due at the conclusion of the mediation.

Remember that:

Z
Most mediation sessions conclude in 1 day (8 hrs) or less with a successful outcome.
Z
The hourly cost of the mediation is shared equally by the disputing parties.
Z
The cost of the mediation is a fraction of the cost of litigating the dispute.
Z
There are no hidden or unexpected fees.
